Outdoor Range Workday
The sun is supposed to come out and stay out for a while. This of course means it is time to go set up the outdoor range. Saturday, March 8, is the magic date. Come out and lend a hand. We know some of you will be shooting in Fort Collins, but come lend a hand when you are done. If you have questions or can help another time, contact Steve. His number is ###-####.
We are expecting things to be a little different this year, so come be part of the change.
Proposed Membership Drive with CBA
CBA, the Colorado Bowhunters Association, made a presentation at the March meeting. CBA is offering to partner with the Greeley Archers in planning a joint membership drive. The CBA has experience in setting up these drives and indicated other small archery groups had great success and chose to host the events annually.
Potentially, we are planning the shoot for May 18, 2008. Yes, that is a Sunday. John and Charlie volunteered to work with CBA in planning the event.CBA will provide targets. A couple ideas that were tossed around were that the membership drive could also be used for fundraising. If anyone knows anyone who would like to donate food items for an event BBQ, we would appreciate it. Because we are a 501(c)3, any donations to the club are considered charity and are tax deductible (have them talk to their CPAs).
Remember, to mark your calendars and plan to attend. Bring friends, relatives, and everyone else. If you want to help plan or work the event call John or Charlie.
New at League
League night is changing. This season we are going to try out a handicap system. Charlie will help you figure out how it works if you show up a little early.
Also, cost for league is going to be $5.00 a night if you want to participate in the money pot. The $5,00 will be divided with half ($2.50) going toward the pot, and half ($2.50) going toward the purchase of new targets. If you don't want to shoot for the pot, then the $2.50 charge is still applicable. Kids under 15 and under, who aren't shooting for the money still shoot FREE.
